Finally!! A fun OSCARS Show!

I didn’t even know the OSCARS were on last night. I simply turned on my tv to watch “THE AMAZING RACE” and when the tv came on, it was on ABC. I was watching the red carpet interviews before I changed it to “THE AMAZING RACE”, thinking to myself, “oh no! No “Desparate Housewives” tonight because of this boring crap!”

Well, guess what? I loved the show! I turned the channel at 8:30 pm, when there were commercials of course, and Hugh Jackman had just started his musical number. It was hilarious and fun!! Well, needless to say I was shocked.

I really don’t like the OSCARS or the OSCAR nominees. I never follow it because it is just boring for me. None of the movies ever nominated are my cup of tea. Ok, so this year maybe there were a couple I would watch. I can tell you for sure that “SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE” has peaked my interest. But I never would have known, had I not watched the show. All because of Hugh Jackman! Yes, he made the OSCARS fun!

Whoever made this choice for host has my appreciation and congratulations!! Stick to this style of show and you may raise your ratings after all.

It’s been a long time….

I’ve been away for awhile. I know I have not inserted any new posts in over a month but I was kind of discouraged with this whole blogging thing.

Everyone raves about this blogging thing and how so many people communicate via blogs and such, but I don’t ever see one comment on any of my posts. I know someone out there has to have something to say about what I post. Not everyone that reads these post agrees with me I’m sure. So I didn’t see a motivation to keep writing if there was no interaction.

Then something changed my mind: my stats. After a month of not logging in, I log in and find I had over 100 views last month. That’s exciting! So many people are actually viewing my posts! I like to know that I am not writing in vain and now that I know, I will keep doing it.

I just wish I could get some comments from you all. What do you guys need to spur you to take a minute to type in a comment? Do you need motivation? Should I post more controversial topics or should I keep it strictly entertainment? I’ve noticed my tv posts get the most hits, so maybe I will continue that thread.

Maybe I will set up a contest or giveaway to the person with the most comments in a month. I have to figure that one out a little more.

For now, I am back and I will be posting more often.

Thanks for visiting!

Kudos for Pushing Daisies

Pushing Daisies keeps receiving accolades even after it’s cancellation.

I found this one today.

The writer voices my sentiments exactly.

Pushing Daisies Cliffhanger

Do you believe Ned’s Dad is back?!! And he is no other than George Hamilton!!! WOW, this was going to be a great story line indeed. Too bad ABC won’t let it play out!!

I just loved Wednesday’s show, gripping until the end. Though I do wonder how they will tie up all these loose  ends in the last episode.

I keep praying another network will pick up the show, but it looks like Bryan Fuller, the shows creator, gave up on it to go back to HEROES, another show that is on the brink.

I guess people just don’t like to be entertained with really creative, funny and compelling story lines. The instant gratification generation just wants to be pummelled with reality stink. Let’s just hope and pray that some of our other faves like LOST, Desperate Housewives and some other greats can make it. Let’s help get the reality crap off the air by changing the channel or turning off the idiot box when they come on. Maybe that way some culture will come back into our lives.

Interesting article on EW about this, read it here.

How our elected officials benefit from their positions

Ok, I know that everyone who is in a position of power somewhere on Earth is going to receive perks that we little people don’t.  But as I was reading this article, I was just disgusted! To think how much the Average Joe, (read to mean me) had to scrounge up to save for the down payment of a home and the closing too and then to know that these Richie Riches are getting these type of discounts! Uuuuuugh! Makes me want to throw up!!

Then the banks are “in trouble” and we have to bail them out! I say WE because it’s actually our tax money that funded this bailout and it will be our tax money and our children’s and their children’s tax money before it’s all paid up!! Unf*cking believable!! (Sorry guys just can’t bring myself to write out the word.)

Funny thing is that there have been talks about another stimulus check being doled out! Enough already!! If they would’ve taken that bailout money and given it to the American people that would have been over 100k per adult! The economy would surely have been humming like a fine tuned machine.

Big Profits for Oil Companies

How does it go again? The American Middle Class straps their belts to buy the necessities in life, while the big moguls rake in the profits. Oh yeah, that’s exactly how it goes! Here’s an example: Exxon Mobile made record profits this quarter. As a matter of fact they broke their own profit records! Well, how do they accomplish that? Easy by sticking it to us at the pumps, that’s how.

Americans have always been gas guzzlers, due mostly in part to having the ease of owning a car, usually at least 2 per household. So we have become gas hungry and the oil companies know this and they use it to their advantage to make profits. RECORD PROFITS!

Now that people are being more spend thrift and finding ways to save, especially by not going out as much, gas is getting cheaper. Why? All because of low demand.

That’s right everyone! Gas is the same as every other product; it fluctuates based on supply and demand. There have been people saying this for years, but no one was listening because we were all just into our own consumerism.

These big companies are sticking it to us and our government allows them to. Yes, it’s true! You don’t think that the Bush/Cheney clan hasn’t made record profits in their portfolio due to oil prices? Of course, they have! For that reason, there was nothing done when the prices on gas and crude oil started to sky rocket, because they saw it as a fattening of their wallets! So let’s tip our hats to our government for sticking it to us whenever times are rough. Bravo!

Take a look at the article on Exxon Mobile here.
